The location was great, about a 15 to 20 minute walk to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. 2nd visit to Bali and the place and people did not disappoint. The people, culture, history, beliefs are humbling and beautiful. The accommodation however was disappointing. It is disappointing that travel sites do not update on photographs to truly reflect current states of advertised accommodation. Villa Seminyak was worn and tired looking. The villas were in need of an upgrade to the furnishings, paint work and outdoor seating/sun loungers. The bed is huge and comfortable but my partner and I unfortunately were in one day when the housekeeping came to change the bed. We briefly saw the mattress underneath the mattress protector (not a pleasant sight). The villa only has one seating option, a very warn and uncomfortable curved wicker sofa. The cushions were extremely warn and thing. Outside the sun loungers are shared with the opposite villa. Allowing only 2 loungers to 4 people. During peak season this would be concerning as if they are taken there is nowhere for you to lounge by the pool. The accommodation does not offer any afternoon tea or coffee, instead they direct you the the cafe across the road. The villas are in great need of a refresh. Paint work is patchy and flaking. I don't want to take away from the staff. They are amazing and cannot do enough for you. They clean your room everyday. Are always polite and friendly. There is no child entertainment and personally I wouldn't recommend this place if you have children. If you're expecting the same image as is in the pictures, take into consideration they were taken when the villas was new and fresh and probably taken 20 years ago. If you're not expecting luxury but somewhere with ease of access to shops, beach etc thus place will suffice. For anything in addition to that I would suggest checking out other potential options.
