We booked this hotel based upon Trip Advisor reviews and availability, since we were fairly late in booking our Lagos hotel. Overall, we were pleased with our stay, and certainly would consider it for future bookings. What we liked: - Value. The “room” is a small one-bedroom apartment with a small balcony. We were in 505. The suite had basic furniture (Ikea-like) that met all our needs. There is a full kitchen with some basic dishes. The kitchen was far more functional than a hotel room, yet a bit spartan if comparing it to a typical VRBO/AirBNB. Bathroom was very nice. - Location, location, location. The hotel is a block (through the parking lot) to Praia Dona Ana. For us, more importantly, it is just a few steps from the beginning of the cliff boardwalk that leads to Ponta da Piedade, which we found one of the highlights of Lagos. The walk to the old town is about a mile/20 minutes. - The coffee from the vending machine in the lobby was surprisingly good, and less than a euro. Some Other notes (seen in other reviews and verified here as of Oct 2024): - The front desk is manned 1000-1800 daily. If you arrive at other times, you go to a sister hotel’s front desk for registration and keys. The other hotel is 10ish minute walk away. - There is parking beneath the building. The spaces and maneuvering room are very tight. We had a station wagon, parked under the building once for security, and then did not do that again. We got the car and in out, yet it was tedious, time consuming and bit nerve wracking for us. We used the public street parking thereafter with no issues (availability could be an issue, however we were there during shoulder season and always managed to find a spot). - Yes, there is a derelict, eye-sore building next door. It has security fencing, and we didn’t see anyone come or go from it. While not attractive, it didn’t impact our stay nor did it give us security concerns. Apparently, it’s been that way for years.
