Village Fuerteventura Origo Mare

We have just spent 2 weeks here as a family of 5. First the positives….the entertainment staff are great and really work hard to entertain the kids and put on the shows of an evening. The Mavericks restaurant food was lovely and the staff in there were great, we ate there many times and everything we tried was lovely. Only grumble was that the food doesn’t seem very hot. The water park was great for the kids, however the pools look like they need a sort out. On one of the days someone had left a blood soaked sanitary towel at the side of the rock climbing pool 🤢 the lifeguards were really alert and the onsite nurse was great when my little boy hurt his toe on the slide. I loved the oasis 3 pool and the lifeguard that is usually there was so friendly. Now for the negatives….on arriving to our villa we found the arms of the sofa were almost hanging off, the downstairs bathroom sink was loose. Wardrobe door in downstairs bedroom was hanging off and the banister for the stairs was loose and coming away from the wall, it is an accident waiting to happen. I called reception straight away and they did send someone straight over to fix everything. However, the fact the stair rail is made of plastic means if u stumble on the stairs and grab the rail to stop u falling it would probably come off the wall. Although the villa was clean the windows were filthy. Also everything is old and dated. The cleaners only came to our villas once in our 2 weeks stay. Our beds were changed once!….in 2 weeks 🤢🤢 we had to wash bedding ourselves and towels as these were also only changed once too. I understand that the cleaners were meant to come in every 4 days but it definitely wasn’t the case for us. Who uses towels for 4 days before washing them?!. I ended up buying my own bleach and cleaning materials and cleaning the place myself. In a place running with cockroaches I am stunned at the lack of cleaning. On our second to last day we found what can only be described as a roach on steroids walking up the kids bedroom door, following day one on their curtain and on our last night another one appeared from their room. No food was ever taken in there and I had swept and bleached everywhere everyday as I am scared of roaches. The fact we paid £4,500 for our holiday and I had to take on the cleaners job was disgusting and certainly not my idea of an enjoyable holiday, u come on holiday to escape everyday life. I understand they are as normal as spiders in the Canary Islands, but we have never had them in our hotel anywhere else we have stayed. A family of 5 trying to have a hot shower each was impossible. The shop onsite while handy to have is extortionate, one bag of shopping for €100. We tried the all inclusive breakfast and lunch and it was not good, but that’s our personal opinion. I have never been asked to pay a €200 deposit anywhere else I’ve stayed and the other places we have been were so much better, the quality of furnishings etc certainly doesn’t warrant €200 euros. We were really excited to come here as we love the other Canary Islands. We made the best of it and we did have a good time but I wouldn’t come back here if u paid me £4,500.

Enjoyed our stay at origiomare the hotel site is definitely out of the way if u want to visit beaches and corallejo transport is a must .. we stayed b& b so breakfast was very good and catered for all . The rooms apartments are very good and spacious have cooking facilities fridge even dish washer .. the water park is amazing for kids and adults can relax while kids play for hours there are numerous life guards on duty we on holiday with grandkids so it was ideal but as a couple prefer corralejo .. also worth noting there is a 200 dollar bond to pay on arrival and towels are 5 euros each non refundable also the staff and entertainment people are absolutely fantastic

Really lovely location set in a crater from volcanic history of the island Good value for money On-site food was good quality and different experiences each meal time. We went for bed and breakfast not all inclusive as we wanted to eat in local restaurants which were superb. Taxis very easy to obtain. Anything you forget to take you can guarantee that reception can help and whilst we never ate in our accommodation, the kitchen was really well stocked.

We went as a family it was ok but on arrival they took £400 on my card for 2 rooms nearly 4 weeks down the line still have not received it back I have emailed but no response if you thinking of going DONT I’m not the only 1 this has happened to I’m in my 70 and feel violated so people DONT go 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Honest review…… 4 days all inclusive food and we were done. Breakfast is fine but other food is pretty bad. Snacks and all food are in the buffet! Don’t think you’re getting pizzas and snacks by the pool because there isn’t any! Pool and whole place needs some serious upgrading. So run down. Cocktails are from a machine! Coffee machines only on for breakfast to save money. Felt like they were penny pinching all the time. We won’t be back and if you are a decent family who are trying to have a nice holiday without spending a fortune, then I wouldn’t bother.
