W Maldives

This hotel is spectacular! It was absolute paradise staying at the W Maldives. There are many reasons I rate this vacation so highly. House reef: One of the best house reefs you will find in the Maldives. You will see turtles, sharks, bright reef fish, giant clams, eels, pretty coral right off the beach. No need to go anywhere, it's right there whenever you want to jump in the water! Setting: Pristine, stunningly beautiful, clean, safe, quick plane ride to get to from Male, private. Staff: They are delightful! We would rank the friendly staff as one of the main reasons we would go back and why we didn't want to leave. Our villa attendant Aiham could not have been kinder or do more to make our stay so wonderful. Our daughter will never forget painting and doing sand art w him, chatting about sharks with him. We felt like we were part of a big family, and still talk about the people we met. Dream, Arabella, Ben, Aquaman all went out of their way to make us feel at home. Staff seemed happy there, they were excited to talk to us about their environment and that great vibe was palpable everywhere we went. Also highly recommend their laundry service, which we used a lot. Activities: There was so much to do that after a week, we were wishing we could stay longer. And we know if we are ever lucky enough to return, there is more we want to do. Highly recommend the beautiful sailboat they have, very special. We saw spinner dolphins and loved having them chase our sailboat, swam w nurse sharks and rays, looked for whale sharks, got scuba certified, snorkeled, saw a shipwreck, danced on NYE outside to live music, saw fireworks, lunched at a private island, and so on! Accommodations: Top rate, spotless, private, comfortable, spacious and loved the swanky decor. We regularly saw stings rays swim under our villa through the glass window in the floor, very cool. Enjoyed the private pool when we came back from activities and wanted to relax. Food: So many options and all were fanstatic! We enjoyed eating on the beach at the spectacular NYE event (they really go all out on the buffets through Fire), watching the sunset at Wet, viewing sharks at night from our table at Fish, and the extravagant breakfast buffet at Kitchen. The kids loved that they had ice cream at little huts near our villa. This all around was one of our favorite family vacations ever- and we have been fortunate enough to see many of the top destinations in the world. The one downside would be the expense of course. But we would rather do fewer vacations and save for this place than almost any other place in the world. Hope you are lucky enough to go!

From the moment we landed in Male where W ambassadors welcomed us until we touched the ground of the island, we immediately felt like VIPs. After a welcome cocktail and meeting some of the lovely staff, we were driven to our water villa (after a little tour of the island). The villa was amazing with a stunning view on the ocean and Gaatthafushi island. The private terrace with the swimming pool, sunbeds and little patio was great. We had the surprise to have a welcome plate with fruits, chocolates, cake and a bottle of bubbles. What an incredible start of holiday! We were there to celebrate our first anniversary and we will always remember it. We would like, from the bottom of our hearth, thank the incredible Ms Whatever/Whenever "Koky" (Kaoutar, Guest relation Manager) who made our stay more than exceptional. She pampered us everyday. I was unfortunately ill during a few days and everyday I received a plate with fresh fruits with a kind message from Koky. Her kindness and generosity helped me to recover quickly. On the day of our anniversary the bed was decorated with flowers and a bath was waiting for us and decorated with flowers with a big red heart. We went on Gaatthafushi island for sunset. A bottle of bubbles and nibbles were served and on top of this, a chocolate cake with a message for our anniversary. This was a moment we will never forget. On our last day, Koky invited us for a sunset drink. We didn't expect what was waiting for us...two armchairs on the beach facing the sea and sunset, a table decorated with a tablecloth with red hearts, a bottle of Champaign and a plate with strawberries covered with chocolate. We felt deeply touched, and some tears fell as we have never been pampered this way before. Koky: we love you and we will never forget you. Keep your beautiful smile and your kindness. We would also like to thank the amazing staff of Kitchen restaurant (Dilya, Lin, Dream, Aid, Arabella, John (Aquaman) and all the others (apologise for not remembering al the names). Every morning at breakfast we were welcomed by our name and all the staff was checking that we didn't miss anything. We had also dinner in the Fish restaurant. The lobster was so delicious. An incredible experience which we would recommend. We had the chance to swim with whale sharks and manta's (WOW EXPERIENCE). That was so impressive. Thanks to the water sport team. We did a lot of snorkeling. The reef is one of the most beautiful we have ever seen... Beautiful colourful fishes, sharks, turtles (we even saw Bob) and sting rays. We also had a great relaxing time at the SPA. We had such a wonderful time at W Maldives with lots of memories . We hope to come back soon. Mimi and Tony

Our stay at W Maldives was absolutely wonderful. From the very first moment, you feel all the stress fade away. Everything is designed so you can truly switch off and just enjoy yourself. The service is outstanding but feels very natural and effortless. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive and genuinely kind — it really feels like they are happy to have you there. The Fish restaurant is a definite must. The seafood is incredibly fresh, beautifully cooked and full of flavour. We enjoyed it so much that it quickly became one of our favourite spots during the stay. Snorkelling around the island is fantastic. The water is crystal clear, the coral is vibrant and there is plenty of marine life. You can simply put on a mask and enjoy, even if you are not an experienced snorkeller. The atmosphere was also a real highlight. In the evenings, the lovely singer was superb and created a relaxed, lovely mood, while during the day the DJ played great music - chilled, stylish and never too loud, just right for lounging by the pool. Overall, W Maldives is a place where you can properly unwind. No rush, no pressure, no stress - just beautiful surroundings, excellent service and a feeling of total relaxation. A holiday you wish did not have to end, and one you would happily return to.

The W Maldives was the best hotel stay I’ve ever had, and I am a VERY frequent traveler and a lifetime platinum member (the highest lifetime level) with Marriott. Absolutely everything about this stay was flawless. The facility itself was renovated in 2025 and is absolutely amazing. The premium, 1-bed, over-water bungalow was very private and a highlight all by itself. The staff were all highly trained and exceptionally courteous. The food was top notch. But perhaps the most impressive thing about it was the service we got from our “Anytime / Anywhere Ambassador” (aka personal concierge) Callisa. She was super friendly and welcoming and took care of us from the minute we got there to the minute we left. When she found out that we were there for my girlfriends 50th birthday she went so over the top making her feel special, with a private sunset table on the beach with complimentary Champaign and chocolate covered strawberries, and a personalized, hand-made birthday message on our bed made from local flowers. She also helped us secure a 1 hour visit to their local “deserted island”, which was unforgettable. We both agreed it was the highlight of our 3-week trip and the best stay at a hotel we’ve ever had. And that’s a very high bar.

Celebrated my 10 year anniversary here at the W in Maldives. I have ZERO things to suggest or complain about. The location was a quick 25 minute seaplane from the airport. The atmosphere was very relaxing, not to crowded and resort was stunning. Our room was an overwater bungalow that was perfectly sitting on the ocean. I could spend the whole day on the deck. The room/bathroom was very well kept and extremely clean. Had zero noise complaints at all. All i heard was the relaxing sounds of the ocean waves. The room had every single item i could ever need and if I needed anything, the staff had it to me w/in 5 minutes. Value was well worth the money we spent. I cant say enough good things about the staff at this resort, from the wait staff, concierge, water sports instructors, photographers, DJ and even management, every single person went out of their way to make us feel like we were family. Everyone was beyond pleasant and ready to take care of you. We were greeted by name by the staff every where we went which was shocking. A manager came to say good by to us the night before we left and made sure everything was to our liking. Our anniversary was such a great celebration thanks to the staff here. This resort is so well organized and they were on top of everything which was great, because i came to unwind. I will definitely be back to this exact resort again.
