White Shell Beach Villas

It was a really great experience. The apartment large and cozy, well equipped and comfortable. The staff was so helpful, especially our dear Salome. The greatest thing was the beach, oh my God, a piece of Heaven on the Earth. Only 500m from the hotel, a beautiful, clean, peaceful beach. The ocean was so calm, the views are amazing. Early morning and after 19.00 o’clock you can see the most beautiful sunrise and sunset🙏.

We were with 3 people (couple and a baby) and we had a great stay! Nice and clean appartment (we had a 1 bedroom app), very friendly, and helpful staff, quiet and modern accomodation, cosy atmosphere, ... We definitely recommend White Shell!

White Shell is a tranquil gem. A very relaxing, safe environment to unwind and enjoy time with your family. The staff are excellent, definitely 5 star customer service. Front of house, wait staff, chefs, maintenance crew - all so lovely. Apartments are beautifully designed and spacious. The beds are extremely comfortable and we all slept so well. The kitchen has everything you need including a dishwasher and washer/dryer. The food in the restaurant is delicious and well priced. Breakfast was very nice and their fresh orange juice is perfection. The breakfast chef came out every morning multiple times checking and replenishing food. He was so friendly and greeted everyone and said hello to all the children. Indoor pool is small but warm and the kids had great fun there. The outdoor pool was too cold to get into despite us having lots of sunshine and warm weather of about 23/24 degrees but it would obviously need to be a lot warmer for the pool to be enjoyed! There are a few things that need improvement such as more variety at breakfast, more balcony furniture (for the bigger apartments), the location of the spa and the seagulls around the pool are a real problem as everything is covered in poop but otherwise we had a very enjoyable experience. Porches is not a busy town and there is no strip of shops or restaurants rather the shops and restaurants are dotted around. This type of town suited us as we wanted somewhere that wasn’t overly busy and had a relaxed atmosphere. The local beach is stunning and the walk around Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Rocha is just idyllic especially around sunset. We hired a car and travelled to some of our favourite towns nearby such as Olhos, Vilamora and carvoeiro. Zoomarine is a must if you have kids and is about 15 drive from White Shell.

This was one of the best places I have ever stayed. My daughter got married and I had family flying in from Florida as well other family from London. On my recommendation of the resort they also booked villas. The villa we had was huge 3 bedrooms all with ensuite, a kitchen, a massive terrace as well. The place was spotless and clean. It was really lovely, really family orientated we had a family dinner in my villa, then another in my other family member villa the following night. Kitchen has everything dishwasher, washer dryer, iron etc. Was a very comfortable stay. The spa was also lovely with the jacuzzi and steam room plus pool, tennis courts as well. The shops are not far about 15 minute walk for you to get all your provisions. It's a very nice private quiet place, the beach is not far to walk to. Highly recommend. Thank you White Shell for a lovely relaxing stay, I will be back!

A lovely modern hotel complex ,mainly self catering units but breakfasts and dinners (plus bar) are available. The rooms are spotless and the beds so comfortable.The kitchen had everything one needs. We had one big problem...the electronic keys to the room did not work and we had to walk the 2-300 metres to the office on two occasions to be met by a most objectionable member of staff who tried to make life more difficult rather than assist. We have no idea why she behaved in this way!! She was unapologetic for these incidents which most certainly were not of our making...I don't think she ( name M....)should be in the hospitality industry. A black mark on an otherwise enjoyable stay.
