Lasting anywhere from mid-September to mid-October, this mini-break comes with glorious sunshine and a much-needed interruption from the showers. This phenomenal interruption in the weather offers perfect conditions to celebrate Republic Day with the locals. Celebrating the island's independence in 1962, the festivities are no less than any others throughout the year, with parades, dances, and fetes. While the islands are much quieter this month, it’s a perfect time to make the most of the short window of dry weather during Petit Carême.
